About the studio
A small studio, with a much bigger team behind it.
Ampersand was founded in Zürich in 2019 by senior engineers who were tired of watching good projects get lost in process, slide decks and surface-level advice. We started a studio that does the opposite: small, experienced, hands-on, fast.
We work as a tight Zürich studio with a trusted network of senior freelancers we've partnered with for years. Every project is led by one of us: the person you talk to on the first call is the person writing the code, making the technical calls and standing in the room when you talk to investors.
Since 2019 we've helped founders launch their first product, stood in as part-time tech leads through fundraising rounds, and kept live software running smoothly for teams ranging from one founder to two hundred people.

Every line of code and every big technical call is made by an engineer with at least ten years of real-world experience. The freelancers we bring in are people we've worked with for years — never a stranger from a marketplace.

Born and raised in the small village of Brusino Arsizio, on the shores of Lake Lugano in Ticino, Switzerland. Working as a software developer since 2009 — with curiosity, care and an eye for detail.
